Joe Vellano was signed to the Patriots on May 3rd. He did not receive a signing bonus.
October 7, 2014 update On October 6th Joe Vellano was waived after earning $145,588 in 5 weeks being on the 53-man roster.
October 8, 2014 update On October 8th Joe Vellano was signed to the practice squad with 12 weeks left in the regular season. He is scheduled to earn $75,600.
November 18, 2014 update On November 13th ESPNBoston.Com's Field Yates reported that "The New England Patriots have elevated the salaries of four practice-squad players, boosting the weekly pay of defensive end Jake Bequette, wide receiver Josh Boyce, offensive lineman Chris Barker and defensive tackle Joe Vellano to $10,000 per week. Practice squad players have a customary weekly salary of $6,300, though teams have license to pay more than those practice-squad salaries." My note - this increase took place with 8 weeks left in the regular season. Vellano earned $6,300 a week for four weeks and will earn $10,000 a week for 8 weeks. That totals up to $105,200.
